With the continuous improvement of people's living standards in the economic development, the global demand for drinking water and industrial production water has exceeded its supply capacity, and in the future, this gap will be further expanded. In particular, the climate change challenges facing the world today, the implementation of industrialization in emerging countries and imperfect infrastructure in related countries have further increased the pressure on the water treatment industry, but it is also the driving force for the industry, providing a huge Demand to promote innovation in the water treatment industry. Among them, the use of membrane technology to treat wastewater is an important measure to reduce water pollution and alleviate the water crisis.
In October last year, the Ministry of the Environment, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Water Resources jointly issued the “Water Pollution Prevention and Control Plan for Key Basins”, and implemented the implementation method of hierarchical classification and refined management to promote the completion of water pollution prevention and control tasks in the “13th Five-Year Plan”. Under the favorable national policy, water pollution prevention and control entered a deep stage, and the water treatment market continued to improve, driving the prosperity of the whole industry such as membrane industry, water treatment equipment and municipal engineering.
According to the plan, during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, a number of key projects will be completed in key river basins, involving a total investment of about 700 billion yuan, including 316.07 billion yuan for urban sewage and supporting facilities, 270.38 billion for comprehensive water environment management, and 505.3 for industrial pollution prevention. Billion, pollution prevention and control of agricultural and rural areas was 46.23 billion, and the safety of drinking water sources was 16.79 billion. With the decline in the cost of governance brought about by the innovative development of membrane technology, its competitiveness in the water treatment industry is also increasing. The membrane engineering technologies such as reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and microfiltration will continue to expand in the fields of energy and power, non-ferrous metallurgy, seawater desalination, and wastewater reuse. With the project project bringing more development opportunities to the film industry, membrane technology will continue to play its role in the market competition, releasing huge profit margins.
Membrane water treatment technology has high effluent quality, which not only improves the water quality of sewage discharge, but also realizes reuse of reclaimed water, and can achieve desalination of seawater and meet the demand for improving drinking water quality. Among them, reverse osmosis is the core technology of water treatment industry such as desalination, reclaimed water, and sewage treatment. The membrane has taken over the desalination market more or less, and the membrane treatment process has been continuously improved and improved to gradually meet the water treatment needs.
The data shows that China's membrane industry has great potential. At present, there are more than 100 research institutes and universities engaged in the research of separation membranes, more than 300 membrane production enterprises and nearly 1,000 engineering companies. In 2016, China's entire membrane industry market scale exceeded 140 billion yuan; it is expected that by the end of 2022, the value will reach 361 billion yuan. Therefore, the industry said that the membrane industry in China is expected to usher in a new round of development opportunities during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
